Make 2014 the year your business goes mobile
How often do you use your mobile to browse the internet and access emails? It’s probably quite a lot, right? So now think about your customers, they’ll be using their mobiles for internet browsing too. Have you ever looked at your company website on a mobile and checked how it displays?
If your website isn’t up to scratch on a mobile you’re risking losing customers. Mobile usage is only going to keep increasing so it has never been more important and critical to the success of your business to have a mobile optimised site.
In an article on Forbes discussing brand and marketing trends for 2014 it states “In 2011 Brand Keys trends identified that mobile would move mainstream. It has. For 2014 brands need to adapt strategies and delivery mechanisms, content and flow of communications to match increased consumer multi-tasking and multi-screen behaviour”
You can find out if your website is optimised for mobile by asking yourself the following questions:
Does your site load in less than 5 seconds?
Are the site images appearing properly?
Is your sites text visible without pinching or zooming?
Are your links and buttons thumb friendly?
Is your phone number and location clearly visible?
Can your phone number be dialled with one click?
If the answer is no to one or more of these questions then your website isn’t performing at its best on mobile. Your mobile viewing clients will be more inclined to take action on a site that gives them a great experience. So, if a competitor of yours has a mobile optimised site and you don’t, then it’s pretty obvious which company is going to get the sale.
The easiest and most cost effective way of ensuring you give users of all devices, whether it is a Smartphone, desk top computer or tablet, is to have a website built using responsive design. Responsive design means that your website is developed in such a way that it works intuitively across all devices.
Mobile is fast becoming the most important marketing channel. You can’t afford to ignore it.
Isn’t it time you invested in a responsive website?
