Plans pave the way for Football Club’s new training ground
Having helped prepare an application for Fleetwood Town FC’s new training facility and Community Sports Complex, HOW Planning has now submitted a full planning application for a housing development on land at Bourne Way to help facilitate the development of the new football academy.
HOW has submitted plans to Wyre Borough Council on behalf of Roland Homes and NPL Estates who hope to build 100 new residential family dwellings at Bourne Way in Thornton-Cleveleys.
Manchester based HOW Planning has worked with Roland Homes and landowners NPL Estates to ensure that all existing playing field land is retained and relocated into the Community Sports Complex thereby enabling the development of Bourne Way.
Says Richard Woodford, Partner at HOW Planning: “Fleetwood Town’s new scheme will be financed by a combination of private investment and grant funding of which these plans are just one part. NPL Estates have gifted the land to Roland Homes as part of this process and we are hoping the application will be successful, with new housing development helping provide an element of the finance needed.”
The Lancashire based football club is hoping to deliver a new community facility which will include a number of new football pitches as well as a state-of-the-art, full size synthetic pitch with associated changing rooms, classrooms and other facilities. It will also become the Club’s new training base.
The Fleetwood Town Community Trust provides a wide array of socially inclusive community, health, education and sport programmes which span all age groups and will be boosted by the development of a new community sports complex.
