50 new jobs as M&S Simply Food store opens at Cramlington's Manor Walks

Cramlington’s Manor Walks shopping centre will gain an M&S Simply Food store this week, bringing 50 new jobs to the area.

The 9,000 sq ft store opens on Wednesday February 26, stocking over 4,500 food and rink lines, an in-store bakery and a 50-seat M&S café.

Manor Walks’ general manager, Bruno Coppola said: “We are delighted to welcome M&S Simply Food to Manor Walks which will offer the community further options to enhance their shopping experience at the centre.

“We’re proud to have attracted a large number of high profile brands, including M&S and Hungry Horse, to Manor Walks and we’re constantly looking for ways to further enhance our existing customer offer. As the centre grows, so does my confidence that we are cementing Cramlington as a major retail and leisure destination.

“Since the start of the redevelopment works at Manor Walks we have seen a 5% growth in weekly footfall figures at the centre and we anticipate this figure will increase further as we bring more popular brands to Cramlington.

“Wednesday’s official opening of M&S Simply Food, which invites shoppers to celebrate with an in-store Prosecco bar and the chance to win gift vouchers, has generated a great deal of excitement and we are proud to have such a premium brand at Manor Walks.”

Angela Lord, M&S Simply Food store manager, added: “The new store will provide local customers with a great new shopping experience. Shoppers will be able to select their favourite M&S products from the Food Hall and Bakery and relax in the new M&S Café.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming customers through our doors from Wednesday on-wards.”

M&S is the second national brand to open at Manor Walks this month, following the arrival of a Hungry Horse pub restaurant, which has created 35 jobs.

As the latest retailer to join Manor Walks’ enhanced retail and leisure line up, M&S Simply Food is located on the centre’s refurbished retail park alongside Currys and PC World and Dunelm, all of which opened for the first time in the town in 2013.
