Market leading business applications and services provider, Advanced Business Solutions (Advanced) will be exhibiting its warehouse and logistics software on stand H354 at the Foodex show, at NEC Birmingham (24-26 March 2014). Advanced will also unveil a new white paper at the show, which highlights the importance of food traceability within the supply chain.

Advanced’s warehouse and logistics solutions allow high levels of stock traceability throughout the supply chain. The systems enable stock to be tracked and recorded on the latest GPRS hand-held devices. Businesses can also use remote labelling to track and label inbound stock from anywhere in the world.

Advanced will also showcase its end-to-end supply chain management (SCM) solution on stand H354 within the UKWA Pavilion. The solution comprises of a market-leading warehouse management system, OpenWMS, and OpenLogistix, a sophisticated distribution, production and supply chain management solution.

OpenWMS, Advanced’s market-leading warehouse management system, is designed for both Third Party Logistics (3PL) and owner operated use and can be configured for single or multiple warehouses.

The OpenLogistix Supply chain suite comprises a range of integrated modules that incorporate multi-company and multi-currency facilities throughout. OpenLogistix and OpenWMS help to streamline all operational areas, reducing costs, increasing productivity, and improving visibility and traceability throughout the supply chain. The systems are supported by OpenDashboards, an award-winning dashboard solution, providing real-time inventory and KPI information across all business units to promote pro-active decision making.

Advanced’s SCM solution is part of a comprehensive enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that also includes a financial management system (OpenAccounts) and an integrated HR and payroll system (OpenHR and OpenPeople).

Simon Fowler, Managing Director of Advanced Business Solutions, said: “Our automated warehouse management software is already making it easier for food distributors to manage complex warehouse activities, boosting productivity, reducing costs, and increasing customer satisfaction. It’s also helping with traceability, which remains a big issue for the industry since last year’s horsemeat scandal.

“Food traceability is an increasingly important topic in the industry and we are looking forward to sharing the findings of our new white paper, with Foodex attendees.”
