Hat-trick of deals secured at Goldthorpe Park Barnsley
The Yorkshire Industrial team at GVA, alongside Knight Frank’s Sheffield office, has secured three new lettings totalling 230,000 sq ft at Power Park on the Goldthorpe Industrial Estate in Barnsley.
The modern industrial accommodation has been let on behalf of client M7 Real Estate.
Units 4 and 5, which consist of high quality warehousing and office space has been let to Deafinitions, a charity that supports, trains and employs deaf people in the community.
Unit 2, a 31,000 sq ft detached warehouse unit, has been let to Portwest Clothing, which operates out of its headquarters building in Goldthorpe and required additional storage space close by.
Kostal UK, which specialises in the development and manufacture of advanced electronic and electromechanical products for the automotive industry, has expanded its operations on the estate by taking Unit 3 which is a substantial 70,000 sq ft unit with associated detached office building.
Charlie Alcock, of M7 Real Estate, said: “We are extremely pleased to have let a significant amount of void at such an early stage of our management.”
Iain McPhail, associate at GVA in Leeds, said: “We have experienced a marked improvement in occupier demand for quality units over the last 12 months, linked to the wider economic recovery.
“Not only have we successfully let a significant amount of space within the estate, we have also seen rental levels rise to reflect demand.”
Rebecca Schofield, partner at the Sheffield office of Knight Frank, added: “South Yorkshire’s industrial stock continues to attract good quality occupiers with its availability of quality units and strategic location offering excellent transport links. We are pleased that the recent lettings see established companies expand within the area.”
