Leading rail infrastructure supplier appoints Manchester firm to fit-out new office

Europe’s leading rail infrastructure supplier Colas Rail has appointed Select Interiors to fit-out its new Manchester City Centre office.

Located on the 10th floor of City Tower, Colas Rail selected the Manchester-based commercial design company to transform the 6,000 sq ft space into a contemporary and functional working environment that showcases the local products and craftsmanship.

With a strong commitment and track record in using locally resourced materials and products for commercial design, Select Interiors local ethic and innovative design solutions gave the firm the winning edge over other well-known commercial design agencies.

Operating throughout the UK and beyond, Colas Rail provides multi-discipline, specialist services to assist in the delivery of fully integrated railway projects. Employing over 50 people in its Stretford office, Colas Rail’s relocation to City Tower forms part of the engineering firm’s ambition to strengthen its relationship with existing and potential partners to meet growing demand in the railway sector.

David Vamplew, Senior Operations Manager, Colas Rail said: “The relocation to Manchester City Centre provides us with the perfect base to work more closely with our partners and to expand our operations over the coming years to meet the increasing infrastructure spend in the railway, which includes significant development in the North of England.

“As part of our commitment to working with local partners, Select Interiors’ commitment to local supply chains allows us to further strengthen our relationship with local markets by increasing our role in the city’s economy. The firm’s commercial experience and willingness to take responsibility for total design solutions provides us with every confidence the office will meet our high expectations.”

Carl Brown, Managing Director, Select Interiors said: “We are thrilled to be working alongside Colas Rail as it takes the next step towards expanding its presence in the UK. We’ve all been impressed by the firm’s receptivity to local-sourced products, and look forward to creating a space that is testament to the city’s ability to provide high-quality cost-effective furniture and materials.”
