Yorkshire PR company expands its training for small businesses

Award-winning Yorkshire PR agency Cream Consultancy is rolling out further training for small businesses after a highly successful pilot session.

Cream Essentials is a social media training course aimed at fledgling businesses, small companies and people working from home.

The two-hour, low-cost session covers all the social media basics so small businesses can learn how to promote themselves, attract new customers and continue doing their own PR.

Cream hosted the training session for the first time last month. The sell-out and positive feedback has prompted Cream to offer two more sessions in March.

An evening Cream Essentials takes place on Tuesday, March 25, from 6pm-8pm at the Workstation on Paternoster Row in Sheffield city centre.

A daytime session is on Friday, March 28 from 10am – 12noon at the Digital Media Centre, County Way, Barnsley.

Based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, Cream supports businesses in a range of sectors and employs a team of experienced media and marketing specialists. The sessions are led by highly respected journalist and PR practitioner Lucy Ashton.

Anne Wing attended the first workshop session hosted at the Workstation in Sheffield and said: “I am really glad that I attended this workshop, it is really going to help my business. It has given me the social media knowledge and confidence I was looking for.”

Maryann Todd, another student of Cream Essentials, added: “Cream Essentials has cleared a lot of questions up and helped me identify what is and is not suitable for my business.”

Each session has a maximum of six people with step-by-step learning.. The sessions provide tailored information to help with very specific PR or social media issues.

There’s time provided to help people set up their company pages across various sites, ensuring everybody is able to put what they have learned into practice from the beginning.

The success has prompted Cream to look at sector specific training courses ranging from hospitality and retail, to consumer goods and charities.
