Cramlington's IXUS Energy land Austrian biomass deal

Cramlington-based IXUS Energy has secured an exclusive import deal with Austrian biomass boiler manufacturer Kraft und Wärme aus Biomasse GmbH (KWB).

The deal will see IXUS Energy supply boilers to the North of England and the Isle of Man from its Northumberland headquarters.

IXUS Energy, whose management has more than 30 years’ experience in biomass technologies, was chosen as an ideal partner by KWB as part of its strategy to strengthen and develop its presence in the UK market.

Simon Cross, commercial director at IXUS Energy, said: “Being chosen by KWB is a major coup for us. We’re only interested in supplying products of the highest quality and KWB boilers have a world-class reputation making them the perfect offering for IXUS Energy.

“Installers are already signing up to our bespoke KWB boiler installation training programme which we will be running from our new state-of-the-art biomass facilities in Cramlington. There really has never been a better time for installers to get on board.”

KWB manufactures quality biomass boilers and is the leading brand in the highly competitive German market where the manufacturer accounts for 20 per cent of all boilers sold.

Independent tests in Germany have shown KWB woodchip boilers to provide class-leading efficiencies in real-life installations, achieving an average 10% greater fuel efficiency compared to other brands in similar installations.

IXUS Energy will provide extensive technical training and sales support to biomass installation partners who would like to supply their customers with KWB boilers.

Accredited installers will also benefit from KWB’s extensive marketing campaign, which in the run-up to the beginning of the domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) in the UK, is expected to generate considerable interest from consumers looking for a more sustainable and financially attractive way to heat their properties.
