Labour MP Visits Direct365 to Offer Business Link-ups
West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has vowed to help Skelmersdale business support providers Direct365 link up with other Red Rose county businesses.
During a visit to Direct365 last week Labour MP Rosie Cooper is set to help the company develop key relationships and plans to put the business facilities management company in touch with other local companies for networking, which in turn will strengthen West Lancashire business.
The company, being an online/ digital business, is something of a rarity in the area because the large majority of neighbouring businesses are predominantly in the manufacturing and industrial sector. It was this uniqueness that intrigued Mrs Cooper, who was impressed with Direct365 during her visit to their offices.
A former Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Mrs Cooper worked at Littlewoods Organisation for over 20 years before joining the Labour party. Her insight into how a business works and what can help it progress could prove valuable to Direct365. Her industry experience meant that she could relate to Direct365 and relished seeing how the company operates.
Direct365 started out as a small business providing a few essential services and everyday products to a wide selection of businesses. Now it has grown in size, services, products and reputation to become an established and trusted partner to lots of customers across the UK covering a plethora of different trades and requirements. It provides business services to thousands of businesses across the UK, ranging from fire extinguishers to pest control services and professional services to safety.
One of the most impressive aspects of the company is its modern outlook towards staff. Direct365 is taking an approach to employee relations that is refreshing in modern times. Whilst many businesses are cutting back on staff numbers and employee benefits, Direct 365 is doing the opposite by offering opportunities. As it grows as a business, the company is employing more young staff, apprentices and interns through links with colleges and universities.
The notion is to help people grow and develop by helping them to pass professional exams such as CIMA, CIPS and a variety of other qualifications. The company ethos is not only to invest in customers, but also in employees. With this system in place Direct365 are creating a talented and motivated workforce.
Kristin Hodgkinson, Digital Marketing Manager at Direct365, said: “Due to expansion of the business we moved to Skelmersdale and we continue to grow by employing more within the local area. There are plans to build a train station in Skelmersdale. This has not yet been approved, but as businesses grow and expand the demand also grows.
“We’re straight talking experts and as an online company we are different to other businesses in the area, which I think really interested Rosie.”
