North East tech business scores a fundraising goal for charity

Mobile telecoms and technology business, Activ has kick-started its fundraising efforts by collecting £4,000 as it announces The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation as the company’s chosen charity for 2014.

The funds, raised following a charity shopping evening hosted by Activ in aid of The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, have been donated to the leading charity which aims to benefit cancer patients across the North East and Cumbria.

The shopping benefit, run in conjunction with online retailer The Orangery House, welcomed over 250 guests, including Activ customers, employees and Lady Elsie Robson.

Activ’s chosen charity announcement follows the launch of the business’ Hello Project in which three internal teams of volunteers have been appointed to help drive forward the values of the family firm.

The Hello World team will be responsible for organising and implementing Activ’s charitable projects and will support The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation throughout the year.

Ian Gillespie, director of Activ, said: “Activ is dedicated to giving back to the community in which we work and our team is extremely enthusiastic about this. We’re very excited for the Hello World team to deliver inspiring fundraising events and raise awareness of The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and its work as we continue with our charitable activity.

“We have a range of events lined up this year, including a Coast to Coast which will see members of Activ cycle from Whitehaven to Tynemouth with the aim to challenge us as individuals and as a team, while raising as much money as possible.”

As one of the North East’s leading independent technology and telecoms providers, Activ is a trusted partner for customers working across all sectors, from commercial to charitable organisations, and is committed to delivering effective and efficient solutions for clients.
