Rugby international to star in business expo
Former rugby international Rory Underwood will feel on home turf when he leads a team of business experts out at next month’s North East Expo on April 16.
Rory, best known for his record-breaking career with Leicester Tigers and England, will speak at the huge networking event which takes place at Newcastle Falcon’s Kingston Park ground.
North East Expo takes place twice a year and once again is expected to attract more than 1500 businesses on the day who can expect to mingle with visitors from across the region, all looking to generate new business and promote their services.
Having played rugby at the highest level while flying high speed jets with the RAF for 18 years he recently set up his team development company Wingman which aims to help businesses harness the experience of his sporting and military career.
Marc Gordon of Durham-based Exposure Events, which organises the successful Expos, said: “We were delighted to have Rory at the Expo who should feel at home in a rugby ground. Sportsmen like Rory have built their careers on teamwork and combined with his military experience we can look forward to an insightful presentation.”
Rory will be joined by a team of speakers leading seminars on social media, doing business with China and staff development.
Exhibitors at North East Expo include Newcastle City Council, Apartment Group, O2, Marmax Products, Durham County Cricket Club, Crathorne Hotel Hotel, Brian Tracy International and Mecca Bingo to name but a few.
The North East Expo event is free to attend but registration is recommended via the website www.northeastexpo.co.uk.
The event is one of several business networking events across the UK ran by Durham-based Exposure Events.
