12 World Records you can break in your lunch hour

Most of us use our lunch breaks to grab something to eat, gossip with our colleagues and catch up with the news.

But according to a survey by BUPA in 2011, 30% of employees don’t take lunch breaks at all.

A 20 minute rest-period is not only required by law (Outlined by the 1993 Working Time Regulations), is it also recommended by experts who claim that a break can boost productivity.

Researchers even claim that allowing the mind to wander is an essential part of the creative thinking process, and that breaks should be encourage by employers.

Despite this, BUPA also revealed that more than a third of employees felt pressure from their bosses to skip lunch altogether and keep working.
