During her eight-year period at the helm, Morecrofts celebrated its 200th anniversary year with the launch of the Merseyside Independent Business Awards, opened a new office in Allerton Road and received several Liverpool Law Society and business awards.

New managing partner Lobb is currently head of Morecrofts’ litigation department and has been a partner for nine years. Her other roles include joint honorary secretary of Liverpool Law Society and deputy chair of North Liverpool Citizens Advice Bureau.

The new look management board will also feature two new faces, existing partners Charles Millett and Rachel Burns.

Speaking of her appointment, Lobb said: “Morecrofts is and will continue to be one of the UK’s most established and admired legal practices, with top class specialists and talented younger lawyers across the board.

“We are one of the few firms that still deals with a broad spectrum of legal work and is able to look after nearly all of our clients’ needs under one roof.

“We have a great deal to shout about and I couldn’t be more proud to be leading such a talented team.”

Broughton said: “Ensuring people have appropriate access to the legal system has been a passionate focus throughout my career and I have been privileged to work alongside so many talented fellow professionals throughout my time at Morecrofts.

“I am very much looking forward to approaching child support appeals and other matters of social justice from the perspective of a Judge.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and I know the firm is well positioned, with Alison’s leadership, to prosper over the next 200 years.”

Lobb added: “Helen has done a fantastic job in preserving the firm’s heritage while also ensuring it is well-equipped for the rigours of the modern day legal services landscape.

“The firm has moved forward significantly over the last few years, particularly within the areas of commercial and employment work, whilst continuing with our renowned excellence in family law.
