Sheffield eco-insulation firm to be recognised at Kevin McCloud's Grand Designs Live
INNO-THERM, a recycled low carbon insulation manufactured by Sheffield-based Recovery Insulation Ltd has been listed as a ‘Green Hero’ by Kevin McCloud amongst only 10 other UK products for his Grand Designs Live show.
Recovery Insulation is partly a social enterprise established to manufacture the non-itch, thermal/acoustic ‘eco’ insulation made from recycled denim and cotton.
As social enterprise the firm donates income to Solar-Active to conduct renewable and energy efficiency activities in educational establishments, youth groups and general public.
INNO-THERM contains no chemical irritants and uses 70% less energy in production than inorganic conventional insulation. It behaves as a hydro regulator thanks to its ability to absorb and release water vapour.
Each year Kevin McCloud hand picks a selection of the best eco-innovations on the market.
Kevin’s Green Heroes was first launched at Grand Designs Live London in 2010 inspired by his passion for innovative eco-friendly product design and green building products.
Gran Designs Live is meant to “give a platform to un-sung product designers to showcase their innovations and designs to a large audience, allowing the products to achieve wider recognition in the consumer market.”
