Law firm on the literary case

Raworths, one of Yorkshire’s leading law firms, returns as title sponsor of Harrogate International Festivals’ burgeoning literature festival for the third year.

The 2014 Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival will take place from Thursday 10 - Sunday 13 July at the St. George Hotel, Harrogate.

As well as benefitting residents, Harrogate International Festivals boost tourism, with an £8.2m economic impact on the town last year.

Raworths became the inaugural sponsor of the new literature festival in 2012 to celebrate the law firm’s 125th anniversary in Harrogate and it has since become a key strand in the diverse festival portfolio.

Sharon Canavar, CEO of Harrogate International Festivals, said: “As an arts charity, only 2% of our income is from public money and so we are very grateful to Raworths for their continued sponsorship. It’s a good brand dynamic. Harrogate attracts the biggest names in publishing, which shows what’s possible when the business community steps up for the arts.”

Headline acts at the 2014 Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival include war correspondent Kate Adie, former politician Jonathan Aitken, and world-renowned explorer, Ranulph Fiennes. The full programme will be announced in the coming weeks. Highlights are now on sale.
