HR2day hosts global workforce development event for oil industry
A human resources company has hosted its first global workforce development and training event for the oil and gas sector.
Senior executives and operations managers from Brazil, Dubai and the United States jetted into the UK for the four-day event hosted by Darlington-based HR2day.
The international delegates spent four days working on their personal and professional development, communication plans and thrashing out a long term workforce development strategy for their business, as well as taking part in fun team-building events, at Matfen Hall Hotel in Northumberland.
Nicky Jolley, founder of HR2day, who ran the event for Dubai-based OES Oilfield Services Group, said: “This was a first for us in terms of the global origins of the delegates, who included the company’s Brazilian vice president and the controlling executive of the US division based in Houston, Texas.”
Nicky, who acts as HR director for OES and has ten years’ experience in the oil and gas sector, said she was delighted to support the company’s growth plans.
She has helped the company develop innovative HR and health and safety systems and was joined by Becky Armstrong who worked with the delegates on training and strategic planning.
Nicky added: “The delegates came away from the week with a five year global strategy in place that’s focused on training and up skilling the workforce. It puts them at the cutting edge of the oil industry and will enable them to fulfil their growth ambitions.
“HR2day is only a young business so it was a great endorsement of our work and showcased our ability to support a global businesses with a large and diverse workforce in developing a strategy that can be applied consistently throughout the world.”
OES, which has seen a profit increase of 33 per cent every year for the last three years, has operations support, training and recruitment centre employing around 20 people at Preston Farm, in Stockton.
The Teesside base is the company’s leading office for change development and acts as a central hub between its operations in the USA, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
