Fishers Services Ltd & TyneMet College Creating a Dynamic Workforce

Fishers Services Ltd have chosen TyneMet College to provide training for many of their existing workforce. So far, a total of 38 Fishers’ employees are signed up for tailored training schemes at the College.

Fishers Services Ltd are a specialist laundry company that offer professional services such as laundering and ironing and are the foremost supplier of linen rental, chef whites and garment services to the hospitality industry in the North East.

Mark Ferguson, Transport Manager at Fishers has been working with Mandy Greener, Business Development Consultant at TyneMet College to identify courses best suited to up-skilling the current workforce.

It was agreed that, 23 drivers would be enrolled on to the Level 2 Logistic Operative course and two drivers would also undertake the Level 2 Team Leader course.

Three office staff are enrolled on the Level 2 Customer Service course and another is undertaking a Level 2 in Business Administration.

Five members of staff working on the Laundry Floor are enrolled on the Level 2 Team Leader course and other staff will be enrolled on to a variety of courses shortly.

Mandy Greener, Business Development Consultant at TyneMet College said:
