Harvey Jones elected as new independent director by Tintri board of directors

Tintri Inc., the leading producer of storage for virtualisation and cloud environments, today announced that its Board of Directors has elected Harvey Jones as an independent director. Jones brings more than 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur, executive and venture investor. He has taken numerous highly successful companies public and steered them to become category-leading, Fortune ranked companies.

“Harvey’s extraordinary technology and business experience gives him a well-seasoned perspective, which perfectly complements Tintri’s needs as a young and rapidly growing company with tremendous potential,” said Ken Klein, Chairman and CEO, Tintri. “Harvey will be a valued strategic advisor to Tintri.”

Previously, Jones served as president, CEO and Chairman of the Board for Synopsys, from its initial product launch through its IPO, and established the industry-leading position it holds today. Synopsys’ technology has enabled the creation of the sophisticated integrated circuits that underpin virtually all modern computer, communication and consumer electronics products as well as advanced defense and aerospace systems. Prior to Synopsys, Jones co-founded and served as the president and CEO of Daisy Systems and took the company public.

As a private venture investor, Jones has been an active participant in the founding, funding and development of companies including Crossbow Technology (acquired by Moog), Mercury Interactive (IPO), Numerical Technologies (IPO), Nvidia (IPO), Red Pepper Software (acquired by Peoplesoft), Remedy (IPO), Simplex Solutions (IPO), Tensilica (acquired by Cadence Design Systems) and Wind River Systems (acquired by Intel). Jones currently serves on the Board of Directors for Nvidia and Tintri.

“Since Tintri started shipping its first product, the company has continued to lead the industry in the most forward approach to storage - smart storage that sees, learns and adapts,” said Jones. “I am delighted to join the board of the next great storage company.”

Jones holds a B.S. in mathematics and computer science from Georgetown University and an M.S. in management from MIT’s Sloan School of Management
