Middlesbrough asbestos specialists secure work with nuclear decommissioning outfit
Middlesbrough-based asbestos remediation firm Hertel have secured a two-year contract to carry out work on behalf of nuclear decommissioning firm Capenhurst Nuclear Services.
A team of 40 Hertel employees will carry out work at Capenhurt’s Chester facility which is used for the management of uranic materials and decommissioning activity.
Middlehaven-based Hertel will remove asbestos clean Capenhurst’s former plant areas as part of the contract.
The firm has previous experience of working in radiological environments at sites such as Sellafield, Wylfa and Trawsfynydd.
David Fitzsimons, managing director of Hertel UK and Ireland, concludes: “I am delighted we have the opportunity to work with Capenhurst Nuclear Services and this new contract adds to the portfolio asbestos removal projects we have been involved in within the nuclear sector.”
