SAScon Announced Brett Tabke As First Keynote For Its Biggest Conference Yet

Search, analytics and social media conference SAScon has launched its fifth conference with Brett Tabke, CEO and founder of the premier social media and search marketing conferences, Pubcon, announced as the first keynote speaker.

This year’s conference is being held at MMU Business School on 5 and 6 June 2014. The two-day event will feature talks from four high regarded keynotes from the industry. It will also comprise of 50 unmissable solo presentations and 30 panels interspersed with networking opportunities, including a post conference social.

Brett Tabke, who is also the current CEO and founder of WebmasterWorld Inc, is the first keynote speaker to be announced and will be talking about the new reality of the web. Tabke has run community networking sites continuously since 1984 and has also authored several books on assembly language programming, as well as a chapter for the bestselling “Google Hacks” book.

Commenting on the theme for his talk at this year’s event, Brett Tabke said: “For SAScon 2014, I intend to speak about the new reality of the web. The discussion will focus around the uncertainty of guaranteeing traffic from Google, and that this uncertainty may mean businesses cannot be based on organic traffic anymore. In addition, I will look at future web predictions concerning Appspace and Webspace, Splinternet concerns and the long term viable traffic alternatives.”

This year SAScon will be partnering with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and The Centre of Enterprise for the first time. The new partnership with MMU and The Centre of Enterprise signals an exciting development for the conference, and it will result in reduced-priced tickets for delegates.

Richard Gregory, managing director of Latitude and a founder of SAScon, said: “For two days, Manchester will become the centre of the search, analytics and social media world with exciting keynote speakers of Brett Tabke’s calibre getting involved. Last year’s venue, MMU Business School, was a great move and the conference was bigger and even better than previous years. We’re pleased to announce that it will be held at the MMU venue again and we hope to emulate its success.

“It’s also fantastic to announce this year’s partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University and The Centre of Enterprise. It is an exciting move for SAScon and helps to continue its year-on-year growth as an event.”

SAScon was first set up by Richard Gregory, managing director of Latitude, Simon Wharton, managing director of PushON, Pete Young, search and social director at MediaCom, Richard Hudson, managing director of Vanilla Storm, Ben McKay, managing director of Organic Performance at MEC and Pete Cobley, managing director of Found.
