SaleCycle grows business down under
Sunderland based software firm SaleCycle has opened up a new office in Australia as it continues to grow its global operations.
The online remarketing specialists, based at Rainton Bridge Business Park, help some of the world’s biggest brands recover lost sales by contacting customers who have not completed online purchases through email and on-site messages.
With global online sales set to top £1.4 trillion this year and over 68% of would-be internet purchases not completed, the company has seen demand for their services rocket since setting up in 2010.
Having recently added high-street giant Superdry to their growing list of customers, SaleCycle has appointed Gary Morley as Senior Vice President ANZ to head up its new office in Sydney as it looks to take on more clients in Australia and New Zealand.
The company is already working with over 40 Australian retailers, and hopes the opening of a local base will help it tap into the country’s $14.9 billion online retail market.
Gary joins SaleCycle having held senior sales and ecommerce roles within companies such as Yahoo! and Hewlett-Packard as well as founding numerous technology and media businesses across Australia and New Zealand.
The opening of the Australian office comes weeks after SaleCycle announced it was to take on 150 new staff this year, 45 of which will be based at the company’s head office in Sunderland.
SaleCycle CEO Dominic Edmunds said: “We are delighted to be opening our office in Sydney, having steadily built our Australian client base over a number of years.
“Australia and New Zealand have huge online economies and adding Gary to our team will not only help our existing customers get the most from their online businesses, but also help more brands realise the benefits of online remarketing.
“Australia is the first of five new territories SaleCycle will be expanding into this year as we continue to attract market leading brands and take advantage of the huge growth opportunity ahead of us.”
The company, which currently has offices in London, Singapore and Virginia, US, are in the process of recruiting a French team and by the end of the year will have opened offices in Japan, Germany, China and West Coast USA.
Rachel Cook, Senior Recruiter for SaleCycle, is leading the company’s recruitment strategy and has been overwhelmed by the number applications submitted by people keen to join the company.
Rachel said: “SaleCycle continues to expand into new territories and our ongoing recruitment is testament to our success.
“Along with growing the team in Australia and other countries as the company continues to attract new international clients, we are also strengthening our head office team here in the North East, with roles ranging from entry level up to senior managerial positions across the sales, technology and client services teams.
“Working for SaleCycle not only provides people with the opportunity to work with some of the world’s biggest household brands on a daily basis, but also the opportunity to work for a company that has truly global ambitions, which means we continually attract the best in the business.”
Since 2010, the company has seen staff numbers rise from 10 in 2011 to an expected 200 in 2014 as it expands to meet demand for its services from customers including Sony, Ralph Lauren, The Body Shop, Hertz and Lacoste.
The company has recently been nominated for an Innovation Award for increasing customer revenue, engagement and ROI at the prestigious Performance Marketing Awards, taking place on 29th April at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
