Leeds brewery supplier Microdat announces partnership to break into Chinese market
Microdat, one of the UK’s leading brewing and manufacturing company, has signed a cooperation agreement with China’s largest manufacturer of brewing equipment, Lehui, to expand export opportunities and develop new products.
The new agreement will help Leeds-based Microdat attempt to break into the Chinese market as well as expanding its product range by offering Lehui’s portfolio of beer and beverage equipment to its UK and Irish customers.
In addition, the companies will collaborate on targeting new export markets, such as Europe, and embark on a joint programme of research and development to create new products for the brewing and beverage sector.
The company has recently seen sales quadruple and has responded by more than doubling the size of its manufacturing capacity by moving into new premises.
The company manufactures and supplies process and packaging systems and equipment for the brewing, beverage and food industry.
These systems, which have been installed in major commercial breweries, perfectly complement Lehui’s offering, which includes microbreweries, canning lines, bottling lines and brewing tanks.
Lehui is, according to Microdat, the largest supplier to the China and Asia markets with a presence in more than 30 countries around the world.
Dr Maitland Hyslop, CEO of Microdat, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for our business and we are looking forward to working closely with Lehui.
“This new cooperation agreement will support the continuing growth of Microdat in both UK and international markets.
“Lehui is globally-respected in the brewing and beverage sector, which will increase the export opportunities for our cutting edge products while enabling UK customers to access technology from China.
“The management teams at both companies have a shared philosophy for innovation and export growth, which will further support the development of technology-led solutions that meet and exceed customer requirements.”
