90 North Tyneside jobs created as Accenture expand
Global technology firm Accenture says it will recruit 90 people for highly skilled technology positions in its Newcastle Delivery Centre at the Cobalt Business Park in North Tyneside.
The technology roles, at all levels, will support Accenture’s application and infrastructure services.
They are part of a broader UK-wide recruitment drive to fill more than 2,000 positions within Accenture’s workforce this year, spanning Accenture Technology, Accenture Strategy, Accenture Digital and industry sectors.
The Newcastle facility is part of Accenture’s global network of delivery centres, where the company offers technology support to clients around the world.
It has expanded in recent years and has already bolstered its workforce by launching an apprenticeship programme in 2012. The centre currently employs around 340 people.
Accenture is seeking people with advanced digital skills to fill 40 of the Newcastle roles. These new positions specialise in digital technologies across mobility, analytics, cloud, Java and e-commerce.
“Accenture is going through an exciting period of growth in Newcastle, fuelled by increased client demand including more investment in digital technologies,” said Bob Paton, managing director at Accenture’s Newcastle Delivery Centre.
“This means that the people we recruit, from apprentices to experienced consultants, have the opportunity to grow their careers at one of the UK’s leading digital companies.”
