Europa aims to “Grab-ica” more of the Polish market
Further investment in its European service sees Europa Worldwide Logistics boosting its service to and from Grabica in Poland. This is part of ambitious route and service expansion at Europa - one of the UK’s largest independent transport companies.
Poland is a growing economic force in Europe and the UK is one of its Top 5 export destinations, the others being Germany, France, Italy and the Czech Republic. With Poland’s economic clout on the rise, demand is growing for foreign goods. Sectors on the rise include transport and infrastructure, healthcare, computing and IT, as well as military equipment.
Europa has been a market leader in European express freight services between the UK and Europe for over 40 years. Daily export and import services already operate to and from hubs in 31 Central and Eastern European and Scandinavian countries.
Europa is working with its existing and very experienced partner ERONTRANS - one of the leading Polish logistics providers on this enhanced four times per week, service. The service is operating both in and outbound to and from Europa’s existing southern hub in Erith.
Dan Cook Europa’s Operations Director commented “This move enables Europa to deliver a faster and more cost effective groupage service to and from Poland. It demonstrates our commitment to enhance our services and improve our already extensive range of services.
“We’re delighted that our existing partner ERONTRANS is investing in this new venture together with us. We can now offer an ever better quality, more frequent service, giving customer a high level, cost effective solution within our network operations.”
In the UK, services currently connect to the 155,000 sq ft northern hub which is situated at ProLogis Park in Birmingham, allowing consignments to be exported across Europe on a daily basis.
This is the latest development which has seen Europa extend its services over the past 12 months, the operator is expecting to add a number of additional routes and increase frequency in the near future.
When Europa was acquired last year its new owners pledged to invest. Already two major projects to expand and grow the business have been announced, the branch network has been extended with a new office in Leeds plus a deal has been signed for a state-of-the-art 262,500 square foot (24,400 square metre) head office and South of England hub, at Prologis Park near Dartford.
