Leeds Bradford Airport embarks on a trade mission to Marseilles for Routes Europe 2014

Leeds Bradford Airport will be promoting the Leeds city region and Yorkshire at Routes Europe 2014, which will be held in Marseille next week.

Routes Europe brings together over 1,000 airlines and tourism authorities, providing the perfect opportunity for Leeds Bradford Airport to meet with influential aviation professionals to discuss new route opportunities.

Tony Hallwood, Leeds Bradford Airport’s Aviation Development & Marketing Director, said: “Routes Europe is a perfect opportunity to showcase the region’s business and leisure opportunities from Leeds Bradford, Yorkshire’s gateway airport.

“Our discussions will focus on strengthening business connectivity to Europe and introducing new routes that will help to drive inward investment for the region’s businesses.

“In addition, we will be highlighting the excellent inbound tourism opportunities that the Leeds city region and Yorkshire can offer the overseas visitor.

“With Yorkshire on the world’s stage due to the Grand Depart of the Tour De France this July, we expect there will be significant interest from a range of airlines.”

“The aim is to encourage airlines to introduce new services and frequencies from Leeds Bradford Airport, extending our range of over 70 destinations currently available.

“New routes high on our ‘wish list’ include flights to European capitals and major commercial cities, such as; Berlin, Oslo, Frankfurt, Madrid, Lisbon and Brussels.”
