Citypress appointed by Coca-Cola enterprises ahead of World Cup

A Manchester-headquartered PR agency has been appointed to manage the trade public relations for one of the world’s largest independent Coca-Cola bottlers.

Focusing on Coca-Cola’s sponsorship of this summer’s World Cup in Brazil, Citypress will help Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd (CCE) communicate its range of in-store and on-premise promotional activity to British supermarkets, convenience stores, pubs and bar operators.

The agency, which also has offices in London, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Bristol, will support major campaigns for the branded products CCE produces on behalf of The Coca-Cola Company in the UK including Coca-Cola, diet Coke, Coke Zero, Fanta, Dr Pepper, Sprite, Schweppes, glacéau, Relentless, Powerade, Oasis and 5 Alive, as well as for franchise brands Monster, Capri-Sun and Appletiser.

CCE produces and sells more than four billion bottles and cans of soft drinks in Britain every year and employs some 4,000 people at manufacturing sites, offices and depots in England, Scotland and Wales.

Charles Tattersall, Citypress chief executive, said: “Coca-Cola Enterprises produces and sells some of the best known and highly regarded brands in the world, which we will be supporting as part of this exciting new brief.

“We will be helping CCE to build on its category leadership position and showcase both its market innovations and the support it provides to retail and licensed customers of all sizes.”

Citypress reports to CCE’s public affairs and communications team in Uxbridge, West London.
