Frank Webster, a senior investment associate at Seedrs and Julian Wells, marketing manager, Rebuilding Society will give an introduction to crowdfunding and talk about the latest developments in the sector.

The keynote speaker for the event is access to finance expert Peter Beresford of the widely respected North Yorkshire business development and funding solutions firm RedSky.

Labour Leader of City of York Council, councillor James Alexander said: “It is testament to the organisations involved and the reputation of York as a place for business that we’ve managed to attract speakers of Peter, Julian and Frank’s calibre to meet local firms and encourage growth in the city, something which is very important to the council.

“These speakers will be discussing how to improve levels of investment into local businesses, something which the council is keen to support as part of our broader business assistance package.”

Kim Hodgson, business development manager at York Science Park said: “The event is a great way to find out more about this rapidly expanding form of business finance.

“There will be a chance to discuss you business needs on a 1:1 basis with investment platforms or simply come along to find out more about Crowdfunding and how it works”.
