Game, set and match for Yacht Club Outside
Liverpool-based caterer Yacht Club Outside, led by locally-renowned chef proprietor Adam Franklin, is making a ‘return’ to the Liverpool Hope University International Tennis Tournament, having been announced as the official caterer for the second year running.
The company, which is based at Yacht Club Liverpool at Liverpool Marina, will be providing lunch within the corporate hospitality facility for the first two days of the tournament and a gala buffet for corporate tennis fans over the following two days.
In a change to the schedule for 2014, Liverpool Cricket Club will this year host the tournament, which runs from June 18-22 and is the largest tennis exhibition in Europe and one the most important corporate sporting events on the calendar. The last tennis tournament to be held at the club was in 1954, so this year’s tournament sees the sport returning to its original home in Liverpool after exactly 60 years.
At a press conference last week, tournament director Anders Borg announced that former British No.1 Greg Rusedski and Virginia Wade OBE, the only British woman in history to have won titles at all four Grand Slam tournaments, will both be amongst the lineup of professional ATP players at this year’s tournament. With further announcements expected next month, it is set to be a phenomenal year for tennis fans.
The International Festival for Business is also serving up support this year, in a partnership to promote a 20 per cent discount on tickets for members of IFB’s Business Club, which is set to attract new audiences to this year’s event. Already, more than 2,000 corporate guests attend the tournament each year, enjoying fabulous food and entertainment, this year in the beautiful and historic surroundings of Liverpool Cricket Club in leafy Aigburth.
Speaking about the deal, Adam Franklin, chef proprietor of Yacht Club Outside, said: “We delivered on the promises we made last year, so it is fantastic to have been asked back and testament to the hard work and professionalism of the Yacht Club Outside team.
“We are thoroughly looking forward to the tournament which is a key event in our Summer calendar and are already working with local suppliers to source the finest seasonal products for the four day event.”
Tournament director, Anders Borg, said: “We were extremely impressed with the catering that Yacht Club Outside provided last year so having Adam and the team back this year was a no brainer for us.
“It is important to us that our corporate guests enjoy the finest corporate hospitality during the four days of the tournament, as well as the play. Adam and his team are not only a pleasure to work with but also go the extra mile to deliver this every time.”
The corporate marquee, which holds up to 400 people, will be available for businesses to hire in the two weeks leading up to the tournament, between 5th - 18th June.
Adam continued: “As the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament takes place during the International Festival For Business 2014, we wanted to capitalise on this opportunity and offer local, regional, national and international businesses a unique venue to hire for conferences and events.
“We would urge any business that is interested in hiring out the facility during these two weeks to get in touch with us at the soonest available opportunity to avoid missing out on a truly idyllic setting to do business.”
Yacht Club Outside operates from the 200-capacity restaurant and bar, Yacht Club Liverpool, which has garnered an incredible reputation for bringing its own unique brand of honest-to-goodness comfort food to the table, and for hosting weddings and corporate events of the highest order over the years.
