Barratt Yorkshire West graduate secures place on the Rising Stars list

Leeds-based Barratt Yorkshire West graduate, Alex Cook, has secured a place in the Rising Star Award category at the UK’s biggest graduate awards event, the National Graduate Recruitment Awards.

Alex, aged 28, demonstrated his contribution to Barratt during his first 18 months on the graduate programme to the judges.

The awards took place at the end of March, and the final shortlist included FTSE 100 companies such as Barclays and Rolls Royce.

Alex Cook commented: “I joined the graduate programme at Barratt in September 2012 and it has proven to bea fantastic opportunity.

“The Barratt graduate programme has given me the opportunity to see how different areas of the business work, and has allowed me to engage with senior managers and learn from them.

“My advice to being successful on a graduate programme is to work hard, show attention to detail and go the extra mile.”

Ian Ruthven, managing director at Barratt Yorkshire West, commented: “It has been a pleasure watching Alex develop his career with Barratt and getting involved in a variety of projects.

“We’re all so proud of how well Alex has done at the awards and wish him all the best in his future with the company.”

The awards, now in their 10th year, are the world’s largest student-driven graduate awards, with more than 27,000 students voting.
