Cramlington biomass firm welcome Government’s domestic renewables incentive
A Cramlington-based biomass boiler firm have welcomed the Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), hailing it as great news for the industry.
IXUS Energy have welcomed the scheme, launched this week, which offers homeowners payments to offset the cost of installing low-carbon systems in their properties.
For IXUS the scheme means customers will receive quarterly payments over seven years for installing biomass heating systems.
The firm’s commercial director, Simon Cross, said the industry can now move past repeated delays.
He said: “Consumer energy choices are guaranteed to swing in favour of renewables and the thousands of households that have already invested in the likes of biomass are going to find themselves in a financially beneficial position.
“As a business, IXUS Energy has been gearing up for this for some time. We’ve invested in state-of the-art training facilities and have welcomed a host of new, fully trained installers on board ready to cater for the impending surge in demand.
“There’s been so much talk around the scheme with many people saying ‘we’ll believe it when we see it’. Now it has officially been given the green light, there will undoubtedly be a positive knock-on effect.”
