Whitbread’s Leeds-based digital agency doubles turnover to £1.2 million

Leeds-based digital and social agency Engage Interactive is celebrating a record year, increasing turnover by over 100% and growing its workforce to a total of 16.

In the financial year ending March 2014, Engage more than doubled its turnover to £1.2 million, breaking the £1 million milestone for the first time in its seven year history, and exceeded its profit targets.

The agency also made six new appointments to support its growing client portfolio, resulting in an office move from its previous headquarters in Harrogate to Munro House, situated in the heart of Leeds’ digital quarter.

Headed up by Alex Willcocks, 32, and Dave Wrightson, 40, the business recently added a host of high profile brands to its client list, including Whitbread PLC, ASOS and Taylors of Harrogate.

Alex said: “It’s been the most successful year yet at Engage, with new additions to the team and some big brand client wins.

“To pass the £1 million turnover mark is a massive achievement for us and pushes us into that next phase of growth, where we’ll continue to progress by doing work that our clients love.”

Dave added: “We manage the digital output and strategies for some really well-known household names now, doing clever stuff for them and winning awards for it.

“That’s why we’re growing at such a rate and rivalling some of the main players in the Yorkshire region and beyond – we’re not letting it go to our heads though!”

In 2014 the company projects continued financial growth and aims to take on further employees, creating a steady supply of local job opportunities. It is currently undergoing a rebrand.
