Halifax school software developer hits the 50 client mark

A Barnsley primary school is the latest to sign up to educational software developed by Halifax based developer, Formative Data Systems.

Hoyland based Greenfield Primary School has invested in the company’s online data tracking package to follow pupil progress, a real-time performance tool.

Halifax based Formative Data Systems has seen sales of its online data tracking tool for nurseries and schools soar in recent months.

The software products, Early to Primary Essence, developed by former deputy head teacher and data management specialist, Scott Parkin, allow instant access to pupil data and have been adopted by more than 50 schools and nurseries across Yorkshire. The company is now working with more than 4,000 teachers and 15,000 pupils.

Scott Parkin, Formative Data Systems director said “As a young business we are delighted that our products are being so well received by schools and nurseries alike.

“The packages have been designed by teachers and parents for teachers and parents and will continue to evolve with feedback and input from educational communities.

“It has been customary in many schools for head teachers to have overall control of data management, but increasingly this is information that they will need to share with colleagues as part of accountability and performance management procedures.

“Real time performance data can track progress against targets, identify priorities, inform assessments, signpost problems and set targets for pupils and groups- and this can all be shared collectively between schools, parents and pupils for total transparency.”
