What’s Cooking? in Centre Island deal for iconic 62 Castle Street
Popular Liverpool restaurant, What’s Cooking?, has invested a six figure sum to take over the food and beverage operation within boutique hotel, 62 Castle Street.
The new venue will be called What’s At Sixty Two? The deal with hotel operator, Centre Island, will see the conversion of a 5,000sq/ft space into an exciting new venue, creating a dynamic collection of bar and restaurant, private dining, boardroom, meeting and social spaces.
Located within the Grade II listed hotel, What’s At Sixty Two? will add to the already thriving restaurant and bar scene in and around Castle Street. Creating 50 new jobs, What’s At Sixty Two? will offer a southern soul menu, the flavours of inspired by Memphis and the Deep South.
Richard Eastwood of R2 Architecture, based on Rodney Street, has been appointed to design the bar and restaurant spaces, and plans to maximise the opulence of this stunning building, taking inspiration from the grand old mansions of Louisiana, yet creating a warm and inviting space at the same time.
Guy Lawrenson, owner, who has more than 35 years in the hospitality industry, said:

What’s At Sixty Two? will blend perfectly into this vibrant mix, offering a flavour of the Deep South in a space that is dynamic to match any mood.”
