"Significant investment" for new gym facilities in Heeley
A new gym has been launched at Heeley Swimming Pool in Sheffield as part of an expansion project.
The new Fitness Unlimited community facility has opened to customers at Heeley, which is operated by Sheffield International Venues (SIV).
Located inside the former Everyone Centre, the 28-piece gym features the very latest Technogym equipment including treadmills, cross trainers, bikes, rowing machines and resistance kit.
Mark Cowen, general manager of Heeley, said: “The new gym is a hugely exciting development for Heeley and the surrounding areas
“With the very latest in Technogym cardio and resistance equipment, as well as a free weights and stretch area, we are confident the new gym will increase physical participation within the local community and engage more users.
“We have worked hard to balance the modern Fitness Unlimited facility with the venue’s heritage and character. I am confident the gym will be a great success and will prove a valuable addition to the local community.”
Heeley welcomes almost 200,000 visitors every year and provides facilities for the Sheffield City Swimming Club, GP referral exercise scheme, and the city’s schools swimming programme.
