Work begins on Leeds College of Building’s new £16 million facility
Construction has started on Leeds College of Building’s brand new state of the art £16 million education and training facility.
The new development is located on Hunslet Lane and Black Bull Street in Leeds City Centre, from Leeds College of Building and lead contractor GB Building Solutions. The 8,000 sq m building is due to complete at the start of next year.
Ian Billyard, principal at Leeds College of Building, says: “This new campus has been a long time in the planning, so to be on site is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved.
“We are creating a building that everyone associated with the College will be extremely proud of and that will no doubt help to shape the lives of thousands of young people and adults over the coming years.
“As the UK’s only specialist construction College, it will be fantastic to be able to expand our offering with learning facilities that will be truly world-class. “
“We’re also delighted to be helping to stimulate further regeneration in this part of Leeds. Since we acquired the site last year, a number of other high-profile organisations have announced plans to establish a presence in the area which makes this an exciting time for the South Bank area of Leeds.”
