Rotherham’s Gala Tent expands into Ireland for the first time

Rotherham-based marquee and gazebo manufacturer has reached an agreement with Home and Garden Direct, an Irish retailer of garden furniture, stoves and garden accessories.

The company will sell Gala Tent’s range of high quality marquee and gazebo products through its showroom and via online sales through its website, with next day nationwide delivery.

Jason Mace, MD of Gala Tent, said: “We are really excited that our first showroom will be in Ireland and see this as just the start of an exciting expansion programme into the home and garden market.

“We are planning to increase our presence in Ireland and having a showroom in Dublin means customers can see at first hand the quality of the products.

“We are also looking to open a number of other showrooms around the UK and the rest of Europe, as our business grows even further.”

Gearoid McDonald from Home and Garden Direct said: “Marquees and gazebos are a new area of our business and we are delighted to be working with Gala Tent to sell their high quality products.

“We receive lots of enquiries about marquees and gazebos and now we expect that customers will travel from all over Ireland to buy the products.

“Marquees and pop up gazebos are also widely used in Ireland for farmers markets, racing clubs and other sports and leisure activities. We expect that this will be a rapidly growing area of our business.”

Gala Tent has recently added two new businesses to its portfolio, which includes Sign Man – a wide format print business to enhance its custom printed gazebos and marquees and Print Day, a dedicated design and print business.

Founded in 1999, Gala Tent has grown to sell over 10,000 tents and marquees each year, along with around 90,000 event accessories and furniture products. In the UK, Gala Tent is a preferred supplier for organisations including the military, NHS, the South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, South Yorkshire Police Service, St John’s Ambulance and AA.
