Award-winning property firm launches local property report

Award-winning property business KIS Lettings this week launches a monthly report on the state of the North East housing market – aiming to give expert regional property advice which is more than “a footnote to London”.

The first edition names Jarrow as the region’s “Best to Invest”, with above average house price rises, affordable rents and competitive yields for landlords. Gateshead is named the best place in the region to rent, and Whitburn the recommended area to buy this month.

Free to subscribers, the KIS report will contain up-to-the-minute information on the state of the local housing market, including area-by-area house price and rental data, mortgage news and expert analysis of the best areas in the North East to rent, buy and sell.

The report also suggests that North East property prices have risen by 4.5% in the last year, with an average property in the region valued at £137,411.

KIS manage properties for 700 landlords from branches in Sunderland, South Shields and North Shields – as well as Welwyn Garden City. The company was named Letting Agent of the Year at the 2013 Landlord and Letting Awards and has recently expanded into sales.

The firm has also been featured on BBC News, Channel 4, The Guardian, BBC Radio Five Live and The Independent.

Founder and Managing Director Ajay Jagota said: “There is a clear demand inside and outside of the North East for an authoritative, comprehensive and definitive guide to the state of the local property market. Our aim is to meet that demand.

“Whether you’re a local first time buyer or an institutional investor from outside of the region, all the information out there at the moment treats the rest of the UK as a footnote to London. We want to put all that information in the same place, set out accessibly and attractively.

“Just telling you what’s happening in ‘the North East’ doesn’t tell you a thing about what is happening on the streets of Washington, Whitburn or Whitley Bay.

“Our area is as attractive a place to buy property to live in or invest in as anywhere else in the UK, but getting the right information is critical when it comes to making the decision to buy, sell or rent.

“We’re the local property experts and a one-size fits all policy doesn’t fit us. Every property is different, so we sell it or rent it differently, with bespoke strategies for every home we market, based on the unique characteristics of the property and the unique characteristics of its area. That’s the approach we’re bringing to the KIS Report too.”

The KIS Report will be published in the third week of each month. You can subscribe for free at www.kis.co.uk.
