Jonathan Straight becomes 100th member of Leeds Community Foundation

Leeds Community Foundation has welcomed Leeds entrepreneur Jonathan Straight of Straight Plc, the supplier of recycling containers, as the 100th member of their special patronage scheme the 100 Club.

Founded in 2005, Leeds Community Foundation is the largest independent grant maker in the city having distributed £20 million in grants to charities and groups.

The 100 Club was established by long term supporter Jonathan Morgan of Morgans City Living with an aim of recruiting 100 individuals and organisations that all shared the same passion for Leeds and wanted to do something to help those who face greatest disadvantage in the city.

For a membership of £1,000 per year, members act as ambassadors providing valuable investment to ensure the continued day to day running of the foundation.

Jonathan Straight, chief executive of Straight Plc said: “I am proud to have been born and bred in Leeds. I am passionate about the city and believe that people should give something back to their local community.

“Leeds Community Foundation’s vision allows them to directly support the issues which are affecting our city and make a significant impact in improving the lives of local people. I am delighted to support the foundation and become its 100th member.”

Sally-Anne Greenfield, chief executive of Leeds Community Foundation said: “We are delighted to have reached the milestone of 100 members and are pleased to welcome Jonathan Straight on board as our 100th member!

“The 100 Club is a vital asset as it allows us to continue our work within the Leeds community, expand our network and lets our members become more involved with projects.”
