Bradford logistics firm reports revenue boost and job creation in 2013

Bradford logistics firm Advanced Supply Chain has posted its most successful year to date after increasing its turnover by 18.9% in 2013.

The ambitious company was able to boost its revenue from £36.5 million to £43.4 million after securing a string of new business wins and making key hires and promotions across the business.

Advanced Supply Chain was also named as one of The London Stock Exchange’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’. Its strategy for growth has always been based on investing revenue and profit back into the business and developing its team.

Mike Danby, CEO of Advanced Supply Chain, said: “We have been able to grow the company every year since 1997, and that has been down to our focus on strong business values, empowering our people and investing in the business.

“Despite difficult economic conditions we needed to ensure we could out-compete other companies and invested heavily in our IT systems and fleet. This helped to reduce delivery times and integrate with other systems, but it’s really testament to our team that we’ve managed to achieve the success we have in recent years.

“We’ve also delivered customer services levels of 99.99% to cement our reputation with a prestigious client list. This excellent level of service led us to post our first ever £1m month for the freight forwarding side of our business in February 2014.”

During 2013, Advanced Supply Chain also saw its workforce grow by 15.7%. The firm created 85 new jobs and now employs more than 600 staff across its distribution centres in Bradford, Corby, Northamptonshire and Birstall in Leeds, with plans to create further jobs this year.

The company is working towards an ambitious target of £100million turnover by 2017, and plans to create 1,500 new jobs and invest more than £20million in its operations to reach this goal.
