Company expansions proves to be child’s play on Teesside
An indoor adventure centre, employing 20 new staff, has now opened a second site in the region. The Play Factory at Teesside industrial estate, Thornaby has now opened following a deal brokered by property specialists Sanderson Weatherall.
Acting on behalf of Noble House Estates, Sanderson Weatherall has let a 17,000 sq ft building on Teesside Industrial Estate to Endeavour Leisure (UK) Ltd, operators of The Play Factory, which is owned by Ben Corbett. The building, formerly a production factory is located on the junction of Dukesway and Jay Avenue.
Upwards of £500,000 has been invested in the unit to convert it into The Play Factory, which features a huge multi level play frame, ball cannon zone, Laser Tag arena, electric go lart track, super slides obstacle courses, football and basketball pitches, and one of the largest dedicated baby/toddler play frames in the north east.
Jonathan Simpson, Partner at Sanderson Weatherall, said: “Teesside Industrial Estate is currently undergoing a major change, UK Land are currently on site with the construction of a new roundabout that will provide direct access off the A174, not only give the estate better access and communications but the potential to open up number of prominent development sites on the estate.
I am delighted to have been involved in this recent letting, having previously let Ben the building at Skelton 18 months ago to the now strongly established Play Factory.
Ben Corbett said: “Our successful two-year-old indoor soft play business at Skelton is the model for The Play Factory’s expansion into central Teesside.
“The new branch opening at Teesside Industrial Estate will provide our innovative and fun-filled play area to a wider audience.
“We’re really excited about our recent opening in Thornaby, feedback from our customers has been great and the location is brilliant.”
