A powerful persuasion process
The sun is shining and I am enjoying a slice of cheesecake (yummy!) whilst putting together this hot tip about how to influence people to do just about anything….A warm sunny day and a slice of something nice, it’s delicious…
For those of you who have already trained with me at my last Conversational Decoding seminar, you know that this skill set puts you head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to being and exceptional communicator.
By mastering this one skill, you can take your powers of persuasion to an all time high, changing the way you communicate with your boss, loved ones, clients - in fact everyone you interact with. So are you sitting comfortably? Good, because I have finished my cheesecake and I am ready to share something even juicier than a mouthful of lemons…you are about to discover one of the best Conversational Decoding patterns available.
“This might sound crazy, but do you enjoy feeling good?“
Every time you pass through an emotional state of mind your attitude and behaviour changes. As you read the above couple of paragraphs your mind put you somewhere warm, sunny and comfortable, in order for you to make sense of the message that I was sending you. Now it doesn’t matter if you don’t even like ‘cheesecake’ as your mind will automatically discount this and replace it with a pint of Guinness, a glass of champagne, an ice cream or whatever takes your fancy, in order to fit the neurological pattern that I am creating, for you.
This associative state is what many advertisers and marketers do to you all day long and like it or not it works! You can not, not communicate every neuron in your body shifts and changes, subject to the environment that you are in and with whom you are with. Your brain is doing what it has done for thousands of years, seeking connections, safety and a sense of belonging, so as I built up my preamble to this blog you got naturally more comfortable with my message and were able to connect to what I was saying, my goodness, we are almost related, by now!
According to neuroscience, people are driven by these three core states and they take the time to paint the context so that they can glide into these states. If you can realise this, then you will be able to engage with the states more easily. Please note I did say ‘engage’ I wouldn’t want you to use this technique to manipulate your boss into giving you a raise, or getting a person to fall in love with you, NO, this is simply to be used for engagement, so think ethically before using it.
Here is another example. You know when you wanted to buy something but you changed your mind at the very last minute? Afterwards you wish you had bought it and you get a bad feeling, yes? Well think about those times when you have seen something and wild horses couldn’t drag you away from your decision to buy it! How good do you feel having the ability to see something and decide right now? Yes, I am having it! You might be interested in this blog on ‘How to spot a buying Signal’.
