Solicitors left the office and took to the water to ‘seal the deal’ for this year’s sponsorship of The Calvert Ball.

Staff from Newcastle-based personal injury specialists TLW Solicitors visited Calvert Trust Kielder to try out some of the many activities available and see for themselves exactly what facilities the monies raised from the annual ball support.

This will be the second year that TLW Solicitors has pledged its support for the Calvert Ball which this year hopes to raise £30,000 to help and support services for 300 disabled children, adults and their families.

John Burn, Senior Partner at TLW said the visit was a very inspirational day.

“Our team specialises in helping people who have suffered life-changing injuries so spending time at Calvert Trust Kielder doing activities, meeting staff and visitors, learning their stories and witnessing their achievements was truly inspirational and something which they will remember forever and refer to in the future I’m sure.

“TLW has supported Calvert Trust Kielder for a number of years now as we recognise what a very important resource it is and what a huge difference it makes to a lot of people’s lives.”

Also pledging support and donations for this year’s Ball are Perro Design & Communications, Northumbrian Water, Quantum Pharmaceutical, JR Holland and Robson Print.

Calvert Trust Kielder is a registered charity which enables disabled people to achieve their potential through the challenge of outdoor adventure. CEO Peter Cockerill is delighted with the ongoing support from TLW Solicitors and so many of the region’s businesses.

He said:“The Calvert Ball is a very important fundraiser for us. It is a great event, with a lot of effort made to ensure a brilliant night is had by all, with lots of super prizes in the raffle and auction and top-class food and entertainment.

“And it is also an opportunity to showcase the great work that Calvert Trust Kielder does to help disabled people and their families.

“This is our 30th Anniversary year and it’s going to be our biggest celebration yet! We have architect, TV presenter and the man responsible for our beloved ‘Sky Den’ George Clarke hosting for the evening so everyone who comes along can be guaranteed a fantastic night - plus the knowledge that you are helping a great cause and lots and lots of disabled people and their families”.

The Calvert Ball takes place on Friday 10th October 2014 at Hilton Newcastle Gateshead. For further information or to book visit www.calvert-trust.org.uk/kielder/the-calvert-ball or call Hazel Ditchburn on 01434 250232.
