Europa Logistics invests in European expansion

Europa Worldwide Logistics, who opened a branch in Wakefield at the end of last year, has announced significant investment in its European services.

Europa now runs a new daily service (five times a week) between the UK and Frankfurt as well as boosting its service to and from Grabica in Poland.

The new Frankfurt connection will support Europa’s current daily service to Dusseldorf and is the latest in an ambitious route and service expansion across the continent.

To deliver this new service, Europa is working with its existing, experienced partner INSA Transport, one of the leading German freight forwarders who are based in Frankfurt.

Germany is the third largest exporter and importer in the world, accounting for more than half of the European Union’s international trade. The total value of imports into Germany in 2012 was $1.276 trillion; value of exports was $1.492 trillion.

The firm is expecting to add a number of additional routes and increase frequency in the near future.

Dan Cook, Europa’s operations director, commented “These latest investments demonstrate our commitment to enhance and improve our already extensive range of European road freight services. With this enhanced offering, we can now offer an ever better quality, more frequent service, giving customers a high level, cost effective solution within our network operations.”

When Europa was acquired last year its new owners pledged to invest. Already two major projects to expand and grow the business have been announced, the branch network has been extended with a new office in Leeds plus a deal has been signed for a state-of-the-art 262,500 square foot (24,400 square meter) head office and South of England hub, at Prologis Park near Dartford.
