Nifco targets new markets with second North East facility
North East-based plastics manufacturer Nifco UK Ltd says it is ready to break into new markets following the launch of its multi-million pound factory, the second in just two years.
Standing on land adjacent to the firm’s current factory, the facility will house R&D activity and create up to 20 “high end” jobs.
Nifco is now targeting turnover of £75 million by 2016 with full order books for the next five years.
Mr Matthews, managing director of Nifco UK and European operations officer, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening the doors to our new facility. This second phase is an exciting step for Nifco UK, not only because of the added capacity it brings, but because of what it represents – a vote of confidence from our parent company in our ability to innovate and set the pace nationally and internationally.
“Over the last few years, we have really transformed the business. We’re not just a supplier that churns out the plastic parts our clients need.
“We’re a supplier that works with our clients to understand how the market is changing, and one that designs products that are truly innovative – products that help our clients to innovate.
“We have built strong relationships with our customer base, which include Nissan, Ford, Honda, Toyota and Jaguar Land Rover, and have grown a reputation as a business that really is at the forefront of its field.
“But we can’t become complacent and the new R&D facility means that we will remain well-placed to stay ahead for our clients.”
Nifco was awarded £1.92 million RGF cash last October, having also been successful in the first phase of RGF rounds.
