Match day lottery raises over £60,000 for charity

The generosity of Newcastle United fans during the 2013/14 season has helped raise a massive £62,055 for the Magpie’s official charity.

Half Time Prize Draw tickets, sponsored by The Malhotra Group, were sold at every home game for £2 each and gave lucky fans the chance to walk away with £500 or much sought after Newcastle United signed memorabilia. Guests from executive boxes, suites and premium bar areas purchased over 30,000 tickets during the season.

Newcastle United Foundation would like to say a huge thank you to all fans who bought a Half Time Prize Draw ticket. 2013/14 has been an exciting season for the Foundation and funds raised has helped us reach 50,000 disadvantaged children, young people and their families across the whole of the North East.

Development Manager, Sarah Medcalf said:

“We would like to thank all Newcastle United supporters who bought Half Time Prize Draw tickets. We are especially grateful to The Malhotra Group for their support for a second season. All funds raised on match days help meet our £1.5 million annual fundraising target and every penny raised from our fantastic fans benefits disadvantaged communities in the area.”

Half Time Prize Draw tickets will continue to be sold at every home game before kick-off during the 2014/15 season. Look out for agents in blue in Platinum Club and 1892 bars, executive boxes and suites.

Tickets are just £2 and all proceeds go to the Newcastle United Foundation (registered charity no 1124896).
