Humber businesses urged to join in at UK Offshore Wind 2014 in Glasgow

Businesses still have the chance to join the Humber Renewables stand at the Renewable UK Offshore Wind 2014 Glasgow on 11-12 June - at one of the most exciting times for the sector in our region.

This is the first dedicated ‘offshore wind’ event the Humber Renewables team and businesses will be attending since Siemens announced its £310 milion deal with ABP to bring a wind turbine assembly and shipping facility and blade manufacturing factory to Hull and East Riding Enterprise Zones.

Humber Renewables, led by the Humber LEP working with the four local authority inward investment teams, will be building on the success of its first European event in Barcelona in March and those it attended in 2013.

Places are subsidised and SMEs may be able to claim back 50% of the fees for attending the exhibitions and conferences.

Businesses wishing to discuss attendance at the Glasgow event and/or future events can talk to event coordinators Team Humber Marine Alliance.

The Glasgow event will be the third of 5 exhibitions this year with more events to follow including Hamburg Wind Energy in Hamburg, Germany in September 2014 and Renewable UK 2014 Manchester in November.

Humber LEP Manager Richard Kendall said: “Our stand at the Renewable UK Offshore Wind 2014 in Glasgow will act as a great base for holding meetings and will attract visitors from the offshore wind industry and its supply chain.

“We hope businesses get in touch to see if being part of it can be beneficial to them.”

To discuss in more detail or register your interest in attending any of the events, contact Humber Renewables exhibition coordinator Mary Green on (01482) 485271 or at marygreen@thma.co.uk
