Partnership law expert advises small divisions to specialise
As the legal landscape becomes increasingly saturated, now, more than ever, it is essential that small partnerships have the ability to stand out from the crowd and offer specialist services tailored to niche markets.
That’s why Paul Bennett, Partner and Mediator at Aaron & Partners LLP, has been using every platform open to him to get the message out to small partnerships.
As a leader in his field, Paul has been invited to pen columns for the Law Society Small Firms Division e-newsletter, and recently spoke at the Management Section Annual Conference 2014, the leading event in the law calendar.
Paul said: “When writing the columns and particularly at the conference, my focus was on firms managing risk, seizing opportunities to stand out and positioning themselves on the basis of expertise. Part of that is the way the firms are structured which, for law firm partnerships, has never been more important to address. This is, of course, what I have done in my own practice and in my clients’ work.”
With a team of partnership law specialists in house, Aaron & Partners has gained a reputation for being experts in a variety of niche fields such as partnership and LLP agreements, partnership mediation and arbitration, partnership disputes, COLP/COFA Compliance and regulatory work advising other solicitors and offering a service specifically tailored to clients’ requirements.
As one of the driving forces behind the partnership team at Aaron & Partners, and a respected authority on partnership law in his own right, Paul has long extolled the virtues of small partnerships setting themselves apart by highlighting on their unique characteristics. He therefore relished the opportunity to hold the floor on the subject at such a prestigious event.
Paul added: “I was delighted to be asked to speak at the flagship management conference for lawyers and law firms about how smaller law firms can position themselves for growth.
“The feedback to the session made it really rewarding as firms engaged after the talk to discuss how they could position their partnerships going forward.
“Hopefully the smaller firms will have the confidence to narrow their focus and concentrate on their unique selling points so that we, as lawyers, can continue to offer our clients the best service possible and help the industry to thrive.”
