Press Ahead to work with recently re-branded charity Changing Lives

North East charity Changing Lives has appointed Sunderland communications agency Press Ahead to help deliver an ambitious three-year target around growing brand awareness and fundraising income.

The charity, which rebranded from The Cyrenians in 2013, operates across the UK and needs to raise over £3 million each year through charitable giving.

Over the past year Changing Lives, whose Chair of Trustees is Baroness Hilary Armstrong and patron is BBC Newcastle Radio’s presenter Charlie Charlton, has significantly increased its presence and services offering across the UK, receiving national recognition for its work including position 13 on The Sunday Times Best 100 Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For list 2014.

It has also achieved an accredited ‘extraordinary’ three star status from the national Best Companies Survey and accreditation award scheme, demonstrating extraordinary levels of staff engagement.

Stephen Bell OBE, chief executive of Changing Lives, said: “Following a period of significant growth, Changing Lives has appointed a specialist PR agency to help build on our influential voice and to further raise the profile of our highly regarded services which support people, often with complex needs throughout the UK.

“As a registered charity, we need to raise over £3 million of our income each year through charitable giving, and this investment in specialist marketing support is designed to help us raise our profile across the UK to ensure that we can continue to make a difference to people’s lives.”
