World's best manufacturers head to Cheshire

Some of the world’s best manufacturers will congregate in Cheshire this autumn (30 September to 3 October 2014) to share insights, experience and vision at The Enterprise Excellence Conference, at the Mere Golf Resort and Spa.

The Enterprise Excellence Conference, staged by the Manchester-based Manufacturing Institute, will feature a world class line-up of award-winning manufacturers from 16 sites in the UK, Ireland and USA.

Among the keynote speakers are the first ever European winners of the prestigious Shingo Prize, Abbott Vascular and DePuy, along with global business leaders from renowned brands, including: Rolls-Royce, Unilever, Royal Mint, JLR, Rexam, Leyland Trucks, Lake Region Medical, Syngenta, Unisys, Boston Scientific, Lundbeck and Maersk.

The conference also features manufacturing site visits to Bentley, JLR, Leyland Trucks and Newsprinters.

Dr Julie Madigan – Chief Executive of The Manufacturing Institute, said: “This stellar event will celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Manufacturing Institute, which is the UK’s longest established charity focused on the manufacturing sector. We’ll be sharing our rich experiences and knowledge from the past two decades, alongside some of those elite businesses which we have supported in reaching the highest standards of global operational and enterprise excellence. Together we will capture the ingredients required for future success in a volatile global economy.”

Speakers will reveal how they have driven excellence beyond the factory floor into every corner of their enterprise and across their supply chain. They will discuss their strategies, their challenges and their results at every stage of the journey to world class.

The industry line-up is complemented by presentations from business improvement experts and global thought leaders, including Professor Neil Gershenfeld, Director, Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Centre for Bits and Atoms, who will share their views on the huge opportunities and challenges facing global enterprises over the next 20 years
