MAS event looks to tackle the three pillars of growth for Essex manufacturers
A new event aimed at preparing Essex manufacturers for expansion is taking place this week (21st May) at Ford Motor Company’s factory in Basildon.
The Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) is looking to tackle the ‘three pillars of growth’ during the free half-day workshop, which will use experts to address ‘tackling your constraints’, ‘managing your finances’ and the benefits of ‘effective e-marketing and social media’.
Companies will also be able to get an update on the support available from MAS, including funding towards developing strategy, improving processes, bringing new products to market and entering new supply chains.
“According to our recent Barometer, 76% of SME manufacturers in the East of England are predicting growth in their business and this is something we want to capitalise on,” explained Stuart Hilton, Team Leader for MAS in the East.
“However, with expansion can come issues and if companies don’t plan for it they could be prone to overstretching or run into difficulties with cash flow.”
He continued: “These are just two of the areas we’ll be addressing at our event this week, not to mention the growing importance of e-marketing and social media for building profile and sales.
“We are delighted that Ford have agreed to host us as it adds an extra dimension and interest to the workshop.”
Each of the three pillars for discussion will feature a question and answer session and case studies of local businesses that have successfully managed growth over the last two years.
This will include a talk by Lollipop Local on getting to know social media marketing and how it offers a cost effective communication channel for reaching new and existing customers.
There are just a few places left at the free event at Ford. To register your attendance, please book online www.mymas.org/events/preparing-for-growth or contact Amanda Glover on 01664 501291
